ABOUT BROOKS COLLECTABLES SHOP & MUSEUM
Brooks Gift Stores Ltd first opened its door in 1949 and has been run by three generations of my family, Brooks Collectables was opened as a specialist collectors shop in 1998 in the same building as the original shop in the Talbot Court Buildings on the corner of Waterloo Road and the Promenade on the sea front in Blackpool. To celebrate our 60th anniversary we opened the Brooks Memorabilia Museum upstairs above the shop in 2009, after its success it has grown into a popular attraction for both young and old.

I think my first question even before I introduce myself is what do you collect ? Because if your anything like me then acquiring a new or elusive piece for your collection is about as good as it gets ! And even if you don’t collect I would still urge you to stick around and have a look at the site. So now I think its time for that introduction my name is Mark Yates and I run my family business, a small but very successful shop on the promenade in Blackpool called Brooks Collectables, founded in 1949, we specialise in giftware, toys and collectables. So the chances are if you’ve been to Blackpool over the last 60 years you may have paid us a visit !
Weather its antiques, toys, die cast models, trains, stamps, coins, cars, art, teapots, memorabilia, records or shoes there is something for everyone to collect, in fact a question I often get asked at work is “what do you collect ?” to which I often reply “anything that catches my eye !” which is pretty much everything really !
After working in the family business since the age of 12 and growing up around toys & giftware, and my love of TV & Film I think it was inevitable that collecting would get under my skin but I never would have imagined my passion would become my job ! And i hope you enjoy using my new website !
